2024 Pearl Of Justice Scholarship
Honoring Coretta Scott King
For rising female HBCU sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a demonstrated commitment and passion for addressing the principles of social justice and communities as servant leaders for equity, access, participation, and human rights should apply. The scholarship is renewable annually up to and including the first year of graduate school.
Criteria for Eligibility:

High School Graduate from the Greater New Orleans area (Copy of high school diploma required)

Rising Female College Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at an HBCU - Official electronic transcript must be sent to crescentcityolqorg@gmail.com

Overall GPA of 2.5 or higher (maintain 2.5 throughout college)

Low to Moderate Income (Income below $55,710 annually) Proof of income will be verified if selected)

Demonstrates a strong commitment and passion for addressing the principles of social justice and communities as servant leaders for equity, access, participation, and human rights

Applicants should describe their work to support the process of helping ensure that individuals fulfill their societal roles and receive their rights from society. (Areas may include Voting Rights, Healthcare, Climate Justice, Racial Justice, Equality in Income Gap, Gun Violence, Hunger and Food Insecurity, Homelessness, or Refugee Crisis). The description should be at least 350 words.

Note: Members of Crescent City OLQ Charitable Organization nor members of their immediate families are eligible for this scholarship.
The deadline for application is May 15, 2024.
Scholarships will be awarded on August 5, 2024, with a ceremonial award in September 2024, during HBCU month.
